About Us

OUR AESTHETIC
At Blue Night, we embrace a sustainable, made-to-order, and slow
fashion philosophy. Our approach is deeply rooted in traditional
Indian craftsmanship, created in collaboration with national
award-winning artisans and local communities. Blending local and
global influences, we merge traditional techniques with innovative
methods, creating designs that balance classic and contemporary
elements.
Our garments are thoughtfully crafted for everyday ease and comfort,
suitable for all seasons, and inclusive of all ages and body types. We
reject fast fashion and trend-driven modular designs. Instead, our
clothing is inspired by traditional processes and fabrics, focusing on
comfort, functionality, and simplicity. Each piece is designed to be
timeless and durable, meant to be cherished and passed down through
generations.
At Blue Night, we pay close attention to detail. Whether it's
intricate embroidery, buttoning, or subtle hanging details, these
small touches make our garments truly unique.
OUR GOAL
At Blue Night, we embrace the philosophy of slow living with a focus on sustainability and mindfulness. Our mission is to create timeless, effortless clothing that promotes easy-going style and can be cherished for years. We proudly collaborate with artisan communities across India, utilizing traditional handloom and block print techniques to craft sustainable fabrics. Our goal is to bridge the gap between heritage craftsmanship and a modern, functional wardrobe. By providing fair wages to artisans and following a made-to-order model, we eliminate overproduction and waste. Through our commitment to sustainability, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint while helping our community live more consciously and responsibly.

OUR FABRICS, CRAFTS & DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Our story is a narrative of all the makers, whose collaborative
efforts result in a stunning product. In addition to, our in-house
team members- we are working with many spinners, weavers, printers,
dyers and embroiders. Our fabrics are manufactured just for us in
small batches by artisanal communities’ majorities in Gujarat, Madhya
Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Telangana and Tamil Nadu states. We
prefer hand spun and hand-woven heritage Indian textiles like muslin,
chanderi, kala cotton, jamdani, linen, khadi, mashru, organza and
mulberry silk. Majority of our textiles are done with handmade
process. Very small scale of textiles-mostly premium cotton-poplin and
cambric fabric done on machine made process, though that fabric comes
from well-known mills. We also prefer azo free dying and printing
process for our textiles.
Our design philosophy is rooted
in creating clothing that blends thoughtful craftsmanship with
functional design, making every day wear a seamless experience. We
prioritize comfort, ease, and versatility, ensuring each piece
transitions effortlessly from casual to elevated occasions. Every
garment is meticulously designed with a focus on timeless silhouettes,
sustainable materials, and mindful details, promoting slow fashion
that encourages longevity. Our collections are crafted for the modern
woman who seeks style without compromising comfort or practicality.
From luxurious fabrics to intricate handwoven patterns, each piece is
made to celebrate individuality and effortless elegance
OUR COMMUNITY & WORKFORCE
With a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology, NY, Shivani
Desai founded “Bluenight” to merge her love for fashion with a
purpose-driven mission. As an advocate of sustainability and slow
fashion, she ensures every piece is crafted with care, using
eco-friendly processes and heritage techniques. Her designs are not
only mindful and easy to wear but also contribute to the preservation
of artisan skills, making her brand a beacon of responsible fashion.
Since we run all of our productions out of our studio in
Ahmedabad, Gujarat, our production costs are higher, but we still have
control over them. Our staff collaborates closely in our large, clean,
light-filled, and airy studio. Each piece is carefully crafted in our
studio before making the final leg of its journey to your closet and
joining your tale. We consistently put in more effort, hard work, and
labour to develop clothes with quality and precision because we value
the process just as much as the finished product. We experimented with
several mock-ups before creating any samples. Every one of our tailors
and pattern masters has received extensive training and education in
maintaining quality control. Some of the members of our team have been
with us for a very long time. We are able to bring Blue Night to the
globe as a result of their efforts and labour. We share the same
commitment to the team members' financial success and to meeting their
fundamental requirements and those of their families.
